Prevention and Youth Services (PAYS)

 

PAYS was established in 1970 to stem the growing problem of substance abuse among youth and has been licensed to provide prevention services in the state of Michigan since 1974.

  • PAYS has remained the Designated Youth Tobacco Use Representative (DYTUR) since 1993.

 

Innerlink Runaway Services

Innerlink was developed in 1973 by a group of concerned citizens who were knowledgeable of the number of youth being lodged in the Juvenile Center for running away and who then organized various professionals in the Saginaw community to provide technical assistance for the structure of the project.

  • Innerlink was planned primarily to divert youth from the juvenile court process and reconcile them with their parents, when possible. I
  • Innerlink was originally operated by the Saginaw County Probate Court and in 1978 the program became a division of the SCYPC.
  • Innerlink from the beginning has been a residential facility located in Saginaw.

Innerlink Transitional Living Program

  • In July of 1996 the program opened with 8 beds available for homeless individuals 16-21.

Teen Parent Program

  • Established in 1987 the Teen Parent Program provides comprehensive family support and self-sufficiency services to pregnant and parenting teenagers ages 12-20 years and their children.
  • St. Rita's Transitional Housing Program Division was added in 1992.

House to Home

This program began in August of 2000. It provides basic household items (furniture, appliances e.g) to homeless individuals and families who are moving out of homeless shelters into their own homes/apartments. Program staff assist participants to have their new homes become functional and appealing.
